Dog-Related Issues:

  1. If a dog is reported in writing to the Perry Paw Dog Park Committee as an aggressor or nuisance dog exhibiting behavior that is beyond the scope of typical dog interactions, a notification e-mail will be sent to the owner stating that the incident will be discussed at the next Perry Paw Dog Park Committee meeting. The owner will have the option to provide additional information in writing to the Committee prior to the discussion. Following discussion at the Committee meeting, an appropriate course of action (e.g. incident dismissal or warning) will be determined with a simple majority vote. The decision of the Committee will be final. This decision will be relayed to the owner of the reported dog via e-mail. If determined that that incident merits a warning, the incident will be noted in the Perry Paw Dog Park files, the owner’s record will be amended with a warning, and an e-mail receipt confirmation will be requested. If no confirmation is received by the Perry Paw Dog Park Committee, the Committee will follow-up with a phone call and a certified mailing to the dog owner.
  2. If a dog is issued a second warning, the Perry Paw Dog Park Committee will confer with the owner of the dog to determine if the dog is a candidate for Perry Paw Dog Park. The Perry Paw Dog Park Committee will review all information related to the incident and formulate a decision on whether a second warning is valid and with merit using a simple majority vote. The decision of the Committee will be final. If a second warning is valid, the dog will be terminated from Perry Paw Dog Park. The owner will be contacted via e-mail and given notice of termination and an e-mail receipt confirmation will be requested. In addition, the Perry Paw Dog Park Committee will follow-up with a phone call and a certified mailing to the dog’s owner. All dog tags and access cards must be returned.
  3. If a dog is an aggressor at any time, whether they have received warning or not, and they inflict an INTENTIONAL wound on another dog/person and/or injure or draw blood, it is an immediate suspension of membership for the owner and the dog. The Perry Paw Dog Park Committee will confer with the owner of the dog to determine if the dog is a candidate for Perry Paw Dog Park. The Perry Paw Dog Park Committee will review all information related to the incident and formulate a decision on whether a termination is valid and with merit using a simple majority vote. The decision of the Committee will be final. If termination is decided, the owner of the reported aggressor will be contacted via e-mail and given notice of termination and an e-mail receipt confirmation will be requested. In addition, the Perry Paw Dog Park Committee will follow-up with a phone call and a certified mailing to the dog’s owner. All dog tags and access cards must be returned.
